From San Francisco to Mallorca
Some weddings begin long before the first song plays in Mallorca. Christie & Jeremy’s began on the other side of the Atlantic, with an intimate civil ceremony at San Francisco City Hall, and continued beneath the Mallorcan sky, this time surrounded by family and friends.
Two celebrations, two continents and a beautiful way to bring them together. For their Mallorca wedding they chose Jardines de Alfabia, a place with vegetation, stone, historic architecture and corners that give every part of the celebration its own setting. We were lucky enough to be part of the party.
Jardines de Alfabia: a setting with its own personality
Some venues are a blank canvas. Others already have a great deal to say before the first decoration arrives. Jardines de Alfabia clearly belongs to the second group.
The historic architecture, the stone textures and the gardens were fundamental to Christie & Jeremy’s aesthetic. The ceremony was set in front of one of the estate’s historic façades, framed by large white curtains and delicate floral work. Nothing excessive. And that is exactly why it worked so well.
A wedding designed as an experience
The celebration was organised by I DO NOMAD Wedding, who created a strong visual identity with small details appearing throughout the day.
The aesthetic moved away from the typical neutral Mediterranean wedding. White ceremony details later met burgundy, deep reds, silver and the intense green of the gardens. During cocktails, red flowers rose directly from the tables, silver cutlery became almost sculptural and the monochrome seating plan contrasted beautifully with the setting.
Rather than filling the space with decoration, a series of small interventions gave everything its personality. You can see it clearly in the photographs.
Working with Lara and the I DO NOMAD team
We want to make a special mention of Lara and the whole I DO NOMAD Wedding team. From our side, it was a real pleasure to work with them: communication was easy, the atmosphere was warm and there was always a team making sure every supplier could do their job well.
When communication between a wedding planner and suppliers flows, you notice it. It is a pleasure to work with teams who care not only about the couple’s experience and the visual result, but also about the way everyone behind the event works together. That is part of a well-made wedding too.
From San Francisco City Hall to Mallorca
One of the most special moments was the way Christie & Jeremy brought the first part of their story to Mallorca. Their civil ceremony had taken place at San Francisco City Hall and, during the Mallorca celebration, guests were able to relive images from that ceremony through a projection during the champagne tower.
Family and friends gathered on the other side of the world could share that first yes too. There was no need to choose between one celebration and the other: both belonged to the same story. San Francisco opened the chapter. Mallorca brought everyone together to celebrate it.
Christie & Jeremy: classic with an editorial edge
Their looks fitted that mix of styles perfectly. Christie chose a clean-lined dress with volume and texture, finished with a long veil for the ceremony. Jeremy moved away from traditional black with a deep burgundy suit, a shade that spoke to other details throughout the celebration.
And when the night moved on, the glasses appeared. That is usually when things start to get interesting.
And then Palmafotomaton arrived
There is one thing to have the perfect wedding photographs. It is another to see what happens when the party begins, the protocols disappear and guests stop worrying quite so much about looking impeccable.
That is where we come in. The photobooth became part of the celebration and did exactly what we love it to do: bring people together, create photographs that might not otherwise exist and reveal a slightly less formal version of everyone — including the couple.
From the elegant portrait to… well, this
During the day you can have the perfect portrait: immaculate dress, immaculate suit and gardens in the background. A few hours later you are standing in front of a photobooth wearing orange glasses. As it should be.
The photobooth captures a completely different part of the day: the ceremony is far away, everyone feels comfortable and nobody needs much direction in front of the camera. Christie and Jeremy joined in too. Their photograph in front of the burgundy velvet backdrop says a lot about why we love being part of the party.
A wedding that made sense from beginning to end
Some weddings feel as if each part belongs to a different celebration. Here it was the opposite. Jardines de Alfabia, the styling, the colour palette, the looks, the stationery and then the party all shared the same thread.
With Lara and her team at the helm, I DO NOMAD Wedding gave every part its own personality without losing coherence. It was a pleasure to share the event with them: warm, resourceful and easy to coordinate with. We were delighted to add our small part when one of our favourite moments arrived: the party.
